Stand in the silence and hear

Your own heart. Hanging.

Hear your life.

Selah.

Stand in the silence and hear

Your breath move your blood.

A rush. Then pause.

Stand in the silence and hear

Your grandparents;

Voices not far.

Their life. In you.

Listen.

Selah.

Stand in the silence and hear

The child.

Smell the wonder. Smile.

Stand.

Still. In the silence and hear.

Your love. The love that loves you.

The you that you love.

Hear it praise you in your cells.

That love that makes you

Breathe without thinking

And when you are sleeping.

Hear what else it would have you do

Without so much thought.

Stand in the silence and hear.
